I have started taking alot of Photos, ALOT. Reason why is my Fiance bought me a Lovely Canon Powershot camera for my Birthday and it is Fantastic at Digital shots. He also, helpfully bought me a 4gb Card to stick in it.
After this sank in and I stopped taking photos of my Fiance and my old housemate I found a New Subject to Photograph, my enduring Stencil Fascination. Melbourne is indeed the place to indulge this fascination as it is in every sense the Stencil and Graff Capital of Australia. So, I've been strolling around the CBD (The Hub of the Stencil and Graff according to the Graffiti Coordinator in Yarra Council) and taking lots of Pictures. Now I have alot of pictures, and I want to show them off. iPhoto is great for your Happy Snaps and creating quick Happy snap things like Webspages off them and Books etc, but it has a limit, where as Aperture, does not. Aperture actually is designed for real Photographers and It gives you the option of creating Gallery Sites straight from your pictures. My sister (who actually is a Photographer with some fancy letters after her name saying so) was looking at this for her Photos and thought it looked good and I also have the customary trial version that comes with new Macs... except that its only a 30 Day trial. Which sucks. I'm not sure how much the Full version is and I'm not going to get a crack for it either. There has to be a free alternative through Open Source.... there just has to be. I'm going to find it too because I dont have the money to buy a full licence of Aperture right now.....
